The Phantom of the Opera

The Phantom of the Opera is the classic bizarre story that has captivated readers and audiences since its publication in 1911 by the French novelist, Gaston Leroux. It has been given numerous film treatments, the first of which was a vehicle for Lon Chaney — a silent film in 1925. Many other versions have been produced over the years and the Phantom's followers never seem to tire of them.

Set in the Paris Opera House in the year 1876, this American treatment of the Phantom is really a love story. It showcases the "man" and his obsession and love for one woman, the beautiful soprano, Christine Daae. The two-act original highlights an absolutely riveting leading man, and Gaston Leroux's novel provides the fantastic situations that create an intense romantic musical. Fifteen beautiful melodies and two ballets highlight the show performed by a company of twenty. Period settings and costumes complement the production.

The Phantom of the Opera is a unique theatre experience that involves its audience with a perfect blend of reality and fantasy.
